teep Yamaha PSR-550: ... first thing that i would like to say about this keyboard is the amount of features you get in it is remarkable for the price you can pay for it (buying second hand is also a very good option as it further decreases the price and increases the value of the product). The first noticable feature is the "Music Database" - This allows you to set up the entire keyboard by selecting a song title. A floppy dis...

Donnabroom Stylophone Original Pocket Synthesiser
... other half is a bit nerdy, (well a lot nerdy, but don t tell him I said so), and he loves all things gadgety and retro so when I saw that they had re-released the "Stylophone", I knew I had to get him one for Christmas. (I ended up getting one for a friend too). After he unwrapped it Christmas day, (he LOVED it by the way), I realised just how cool they are and wanted to share with all you lovely people. ~~~*~~~ What is a Stylophone? ~~~*~~~ I expect a lot of you will know exactly what a Stylophone is remembering them from the "first time round" back in the 1960s/70s. Stylophones were made popular by Rolf Harris and David Bowie who used them for s...

... should firstly let you know that I m a competent keyboard / piano player, nothing special but I can play a few tunes and write some half-decent songs. I don t claim to be a master musician or a master songwriter, but I do love sitting down at the keyboard and messing about, working with sounds and arrangements and seeing if I can suddenly "stumble" into a new song (because that s really the best for it sometimes- you can be absently noodling and suddenly find you have an idea for a song- it just builds from there). I have always loved playing the piano- from the age of five I always looked forward to going round my aunt s house to play the grand paino they ha...

Nar2 Yamaha PSR-340
... it comes to home keyboards, what do consumers look for? Price is probably the first requirement which meets the ticked boxes before performance and feature. Well this was the problem which faced me when in the last year of my undergrad college course I had to buy a piano. This is a long review! The piano in question would have to be digital so that private practise could be undertaken via headphones and if possible to have some degree of touch sensitivity. I had many options before me; either a second hand keyboard with little features such as a bank of instrument sounds, sound effects, and accompaniments but very little else in terms of technology (and the fear o...
