Getting an iPad last week I quickly learnt how many things it could do, but the one thing I struggled with was doing anything that required a lot of typing (such as writing a review!) and I soon realised that I needed a keyboard to go with it. Having accumulated a lot of Amazon vouchers recently I took to searching what they had and soon found the Belkin keyboard folio. It was pricey at £75 but it had a few features on it that I liked and knew I would get use of.
The keyboard folio is first and foremost a keyboard for the iPad 2, but it is also a protective case and cover for the iPad. I don't use this one all the time as I have another bright pink one which I love, but this one is handy to take to protect the iPad screen when you are going out with it and need the keyboard too.
The keyboard feature TruType keys which are really comfortable and so nice to type with. I hate the feel of cheap keys on keyboards and think it's definitely something worth spending a little more on especially something you will get so much use out of. Some of the rubber keyboards which you can buy to complement the iPad just don't feel the same and this Belkin keyboard will give you the feel of a proper pc or laptop. I find that my typing speeds are increased ever so slightly with this keyboard and it is definitely due to the design and comfort. There is something in the design which increases accuracy and speed so it's not just me being strange!
The folio also has adjustable modes to hold the iPad and this is a really good feature which will allow you to change the position of the iPad for typing or just to simply view the tablet. The tri-fold design means when it isn't in use, the keyboard can be tucked away. It is thin and lightweight so it doesn't add too much extra weight to the iPad when you are on the go. It feels nice on the outer casing too with a smooth suede feel. Has Bluetooth connection and a micro USB port too.
Given that it is a Belkin product too is obviously another feature in itself. Known as a global leader in connectivity and accessories, it's quality products have always lasted in our house (usually the market progresses and moves on before the product stops working - in our experience!).
An excellent product - slightly hefty in price, but I'm coming to realise that this is standard with anything associated with the iPad!!!
