Advantages: Light and easy to use.
Disadvantages: Keys seem smaller than normal keyboard
I have been using this keyboard for about a year now and have found that it has performed very well. The keyboard itself looks like a laptop keyboard without the screen. I have my home computer hooked up to my television and the wireless functionality of this keyboard means that I can browse the internet from the comfort of my sofa. Its also a useful remote control when watching or using media online. The keyboard also has a built in mouse pad which will be very familiar to any users of a laptop.
The keyboard comes with a USB dongle which is inserted into the computer. Four AAA batteries are needed to power the keyboard and once inserted the keyboard needs to be synchronised with the computer. This is done at the first use and is just the matter of pressing the sync key on the keyboard and the dongle at the same time. I have only needed to do this the once and it took no longer than 30 seconds.
Using the keyboard is a breeze>I have found the keys seem to be slightly smaller than a normal desktop keyboard though and sometimes It would cause me to make more mistakes than normal. The keyboard itself is very light and can easily be supported by one hand and used by the other. The mouse pad is also very easy to use and the sensitivity can be adjusted if necessary. At the side of the mouse pad there is a scroll built in which allows you to scroll up and down a page very quickly and I have found this to be a great addition and one that I was not expecting.
The battery life in the keyboard is very good although ultimately it depends on how much you use the product. The board has a clever function that the batteries turn off after a set period when no keys have been pressed thus saving power .Generally I tend to get around four months out of fully charged batteries. Batteries were included when I purchased the item from Amazon marketplace.
The range of the keyboard is excellent. I have the dongle at the front of my keyboard and it easily picks up the keyboard anywhere in the living room even if the keyboard isn't facing the computer or is upside down.
The keyboard appears well built and despite being thrown about my living room for a year there are no signs of wear on the casing or any of the keys.
Everyone who has visited my house has commented on how useful the keyboard is and how they would also love to have the ability to browse online from their sofa. Overall I am delighted with the product and would not hesitate to recommend it.
The same keyboard is currently available on Amazon from £36 new or £26 used.
Summary: Great product and joy to use.
