I have owned 3 of these keyboards now, so they must be good! But their biggest flaw is that the lettering comes off the keys quite easily, although to put it in perspective that's a couple of keys a year that wear out from daily usage. I'm a touch typer so i'd never notice, but I have to replace the board for those who aren't so skilled at typing.
In terms of aesthetics it's in a different league, it looks beautiful in black acrylic and sivler aluminium- like an imac! Gorgeous, and the underside is orange.
the keys are quite short, but with more travel than a laptop keyboard, it is very comfortable to type on but
The keyboard also has pull out feet at the back to raise the keyboard to around 20 degrees, it's personal preference which one you like but I go for raised.
The keyboard has an integrated touch pad, which comes in handy for the board which was relegated from the office to the lounge for home theatre use. It is too small to be useful, and being circular means it's not pleasant to use for any length of time, there are also a left and right click below the touch pad.
The volume is adjusted using a sliding touch control, which is very novel but actually not as useful for minor adjustment as hard buttons.
In conclusion it's a good board, pricey but if you want the best keyboard you can get this is probably the one for you.
I've owned this keyboard for over two years now and it's time I'm shared my praise!! It cost £120 from Amazon, but now sell for less than £100.
In the box is the usual generic Logitech software which works for most computer related Logitech devices - great when you've got a mouse, keyboard, camera etc... There's also a cleaning cloth, USB receiver, charge base, ac adaptor, instructions and the keyboard itself.
The keyboard has an orange metal underside, with two extendable feet and a connect button. On the top side is a Perspex piece surrounding the keys and most of the keyboard, complimented by a brushed aluminium wrist rest. The Perspex arrives covered with a sticky plastic sheet which I kept on for 12 months... Even with it peeled off the finish hasn't scratched, but I am very careful.
On the side is a stiff on/off switch; I generally leave the keyboard on and I get roughly 3 months use between charges. Going from right to left, there's a touch sensitive volume control, windows media button, mute button, track pad with both left and right click, the main standard keyboard and on the left a sleep button and left click button. The further click button is useful when using the mouse more intensely.
At the lower point of the keyboard next to the Alt key is the Fn (function) key. When pressed a multitude of multimedia and useful options are lit up on the keyboard. Most of these options can be configured using the supplied software. I use the home key to open up a webpage at my 'Home' site (not dooyoo as yet...) other keys are useful for mail and some media functions.
The performance of the keyboard is the best I've ever experienced. It connects immediately, out performs some gaming keyboards on response times and gives you ample warning when the battery is low. I've never experienced a problem connecting.
Overall it's a great keyboard, but I have purchased a separate Bluetooth mouse for more active mouse work - I'm just not a fan of trackpads generally. The trackpad does have a nifty scroll feature which involves the user moving there finger in a circular motion...but it's not the same user friendly experience as a standard scroll wheel.
If you do use a separate Bluetooth mouse, please note the receiver won't work with it. Strangely the receiver only communicates with the keyboard, file transfers etc... will not work!
I have always wanted this keyboard ever since i first saw it. The price was putting me off and i had to think about a lot but i finally bought it. I bought it for around £95 from amazon and i am so pleased i did.
I love this keyboard, firstly it looks great, and it matches the mouse i have, the Logitech MX Revolution.
Firstly the keyboard looks fantastic, the main body is made from black plexiglass which looks amazing, but it can suffer from fingerprints and dust, but you get a cleaning cloth with it so thats fine. There is also a wrist rest made from metal which finishes the whole look off.
The keys are so nice to use, they are soft touch and respond very well. The keyboard is missing a number pad but i just bought one separately.
The keyboard can be connected to your computer with the included USB dongle or if your computer has bluetooth you can connect it this way.
As well as the normal keys, the keyboard also has other features. The round disk is a mouse pad so if you are using this for a laptop, or your mouse is not working you can use this pad the same way you use a laptop mouse pad by running your finger over it.
Above this is a touch sensitive volume control. This is part of the plexiglass and to change volume you run your finger up or down and you see orange lights next to it as you move so you know its working.
On the left of the keyboard there are more controls, there is a mouse click button so if you are using the mouse pad and you are left handed, you can use this button to act as the left mouse button. Above this are zoom in and out buttons, and above those is a sleep button.
The keyboard also has an FN key and when you press and hold this new features can be used. The F keys (F1 etc) can act as other controls, and when you press FN, just above the F keys a little symbol lights up telling you what each key does.
Some of these controls can be changed in the Logitech control panal you get included on a CD.
You have to install this program if you want to change functions of the keyboard. You can also check the battery life and change other functions.
The keyboard is fully rechargeable and comes with its own docking station. The battery life is fantastic. It only needs charging about once every 2-3 months depending on use, and it charges quick, just leave it on overnight for a full charge, or if you want to use it quickly, just leave it on for an hour or so.
I love this keyboard and have never stopped using it ever since i bought it. It is definitely worth the money you pay for it.
