Advantages: G-keys, LCD screen and a nice design
Disadvantages: none
I have the Logitech G15 gaming keyboard over a month now in my possession and I still like it very much.
The G keys:
I have the V2 in my possession and I therefore have 6 G keys to my disposal (with the 18 different modes). I use these buttons very often in Windows, for example to open Live Mail, or to start Battlefield 2. I still don't use these buttons that much during the game, since I only play Battlefield 2 and I know all the keys faultlessly. But if I once got the time to make a few macros such as Rifle> Grenade> throw> rifle, then I will make them. I know several people with such macros and they really have benefits from it.
The display:
In windows, I usually use the Logitech LCD clock to see what the time is, what date it is and whether there are unread e-mails. For Teamspeak (a communication program), I have downloaded a special tool that I downloaded from a site. This program is very handy, because you can see who is talking, who is in your channel and much more. I also downloaded a program for Battlefield 2, that gives useful info and I think that it gives me an advantage on other players without the G15.
Other features and design:
This keyboard also has the feature to shut off the windows keys, which is very handy. The placement of the buttons is just fine, it is the same with the other keyboards from Logitech and there are also other special buttons such as noise attenuation, brightness and volume. These are all very easy buttons. However, the media buttons are missing. The light is very useful, because you can keep on playing in the dark. There are many complaints that the light of the V2 is too weak and that the colour is ugly. However, I think that the brightness at highest level, is more than enough and I personally think that the colour is very nice. The keyboard is very solid.
All in all, I think that this is a very good keyboard. I bought it just because it had a LCD screen and fully satisfied. It costs a lot, but it is definitely worth it!
Summary: Every gamer, amateur or professional, needs to have one of these!
