I consider myself to be quite a good typist and don't require to look at the keys and it is important to me that I can pick up where keys are on a new keyboard relativity quickly. I had no problems adjusting to this keyboard and find that keys are fairly well spaced out. I have been using this keyboard on a daily basis at home for the past 2 months and haven't had any problems with it.
~Technical Stuff~
This is a standard QWERTY keyboard. There is nothing too fancy about this keyboard, no special ergonomic adjustments to help with people who may suffer from RSI (Repetitive Strain Injury) for example. The keyboard connects to your laptop or PC with a standard USB connection.
There is a separate number pad, which I like to use when working on spreadsheets or using the calculator on my laptop. There are also your number keys along the top 0 - 9 and there are also 12 functions keys (F1, for example).
This keyboard also comes with 8 keys, which I call quick keys. Quick keys allow you to carry out simple operations by pressing the key once. These quick keys are Play/Pause, Mute, Volume down, Volume up, Internet home, Launch default e-mail application, PC sleep, Calculator launch.
According to the manufacturer this keyboard has a life of 5 million key strokes. Reading this from the box, I presume that this means per button. I would expect this to last me somewhere between 3 and 5 years before some of the buttons start to become a little hard to press.
~Installation and Usage~
The keyboard is easy to install and set up. Simply find a free USB slot on your PC or Laptop and plug it in. It will take a couple of seconds to register and then you should be good to start typing away. I have found that the keyboard is very respondant to my key presses.
~Summary~
You can buy this keyboard for under £10 from various online retailers. I think this offers excellent value for money. The keyboard is sturdy, robust and has all the keys which I would expect from any decent keyboard. For me the number pad is essential and the quick keys are a nice addition, this is just my personal preference.
It may be listed as a business keyboard, but I believe this is suitable for use at home too.
