Advantages: Cheap price, Easy to set up, Nice to look at, Hard wearing
Disadvantages: Lack of indicator lights
I have to admit that the only reason I bought this was because I was bored and wanted to get a new toy to play with. I had always fancied getting a wireless keyboard and while on Amazon.com com I saw the Logitech MK250 and thought to myself "I'm going to get that!" So I did.
When it arrived I had it up and running in about 2 minutes of opening the box! It comes with the batteries for the mouse and keyboard and It's very easy to set up. I just put the batteries in, then plugged in the wireless dongle and 30 seconds later it was working! You don't need to install drivers or run set up software or anything which is always a plus.
I took an instant disliking to the mouse. It felt cheap and I didn't like using it so I ditched it almost straight away in favour of my regular one. Having said that though, it performs well and if I didn't have my other mouse to fall back on I'd probably still be using the Logitech one. I just didn't much like the cheap plastic feel to it.
My first impressions about the keyboard were good. It looks nice and it's easy to type on but it didn't take me long to notice a serious drawback with the Logitech keyboard. There's no caps lock indicator light! I had no idea how handy this light is until I started using the Mk205 which doesn't have one! I thought it was a fault at first because I couldn't understand why everything typed was in capital letters! Later, this turned in to a major drawback when entering my password in to a website. I had no idea why the website I was trying to access wouldn't accept my password until the penny finally dropped that I had caps lock on! This is a seriously annoying thing about this wireless keyboard!
There's also no power light so if you forget to switch it off one night it will be going until you go to turn it on the next time you want to use it. It's not heavy on batteries so this shouldn't be a problem for anyone.
I really can't think of anything that makes this keyboard stand out, apart from the price! Apart from being wireless it's just a totally bog standard keyboard with very little functions. I'd only recommend it to someone who's on a tight budget who needs a keyboard!
Summary: I'd only recommend it to someone who's on a tight budget who needs a keyboard!
