Advantages: very easy to install and use.

Disadvantages: You cant get the keyboard without the mouse

To be honest, I've never really been much of a fan of the button-laden
multimedia superstar keyboard. My board previous to this one was a
Microsoft Internet keyboard, and by the time I managed to locate and
press the tiny "home page" button, I could double clicked the E on my
desktop four or five times. The Elite keyboard, however, has made me
a complete convert. In terms of looks, this keyboard screams style that's
a major improvement over their standard multimedia keyboard, with a
sexy black\gun metal two-tone color scheme, and a marginally leather-like
cushioned wrist rest.

The very fake leather rest is extremely comfortable for long periods of
typing, so writers and programmers should definitely give this board a look.
The keys are quiet and have a nice feel to them, and it's definitely the best
looking keyboard ever to have a Microsoft logo on it. The multimedia and
extra function buttons are large and well designed, and the "my favorites"
buttons are a superb addition to the board. As for the mouse, if you are
concerned that a wireless mouse won't be able to handle fast paced FPS
gaming, not to worry. The mouse tracks 6000 times a second, and is every
bit as accurate as my old USB mouse. The tilt wheel technology is certainly
interesting, and it has no negative impacts on the other aspects of the scroll
wheel. Microsoft users will absolutely love it, and if you're on the fence
about which way to go, you should definitely give the Optical Desktop Elite
a try.
