Advantages: Good for wrist problems
Disadvantages: Hard to get the hang of.
Ever wondered what it would be like to type around corners? Well now you can find out With the Natural Keyboard. What an ironic name. It is the most un-natural thing I have ever seen or used. It really takes some getting used to but pays off once you have mastered it. If you get wrist problems from long periods of typing then this could be the answer for you. My Secretary suffered from RSI for a long time and swears by hers. It is good because the layout of the keys are broken into 2 parts. One set for each hand. Now this is a great idea if you have learned to type properly and you have specific fingers for each key. However, you will find it to be aproblem if you share the duties of some keys between hands, depending on what word im writing. I do this and this is the main reason why I cannot get along with it I think. To look at, it looks very modern. Slightly raised up and built to support your hands at an angle to each other. What I do like about this Keyboard are the internet keys. handy shortcuts for when you are net surfing. The future will be shortcuts with the amount of functionality of the web and any kelp from the keyboard in navigation is a bonus. You also have a big wrist rest around the front edge of the keyboard so they are well supported. This will eliminate the problems most people have with their wrists so i am told. The only thing is, its hard convincing traditional keyboard users of this. If this is the future of typing technology then I suggest that Microsoft or whoever supply keyboards decide that they will supply these as standard. Then, the next generation of PC users will be used to them from day one. Its much harder adapting to one of the keyboards if you have used a traditional one for years, than if you went straight into the Natural style. I do like them, Just find it had to get out of my old ways.
