A great alternative to using the keyboard keypad, so much more convenient.

I have had experience of a number of these very useful numeric keypads in the past, I think that the Targus Wireless Numeric Keypad is the best of the lot, largely due to the layout of the pad and the wireless capabilities. First i will begin with the look of the keypad itself. Each key is fully sized - 19mm, and the concave profile ensures your accuracy and speed will be much improved as opposed to using the number pad on the conventional keyboard. This product is designed mainly for laptop users, as some keyboards on laptops don't have the standard layout form numbers due to limited space. Fortunately my laptop does have a full keypad, but I find this piece of kit useful, which goes to show how easy it really is to use.

Unlike all the other numeric keypads I have seen, this particular model has a strange design feature. Each key has a void around it. One one hand you could suggest it will take some getting used to and is a design flaw, but anyone who tries this keypad will realise how well thought out this idea was, and that you will no longer press a button by mistake. One of the most common mistakes made on these keypads is that you can press two buttons at once with a misjudgment of the finger - not with this product!

The surround of the keys has a glass-like finish to it - albeit being black. If you have read any of my Samsung reviews in the past it will be no surprise to you that I believe it to have a very 'Samsung look' about it. The USB connector for the wireless connection also has a high gloss finish and all in all we have a very sophisticated looking accessory for our PC/laptop. Other useful features to note are that the receiver stores within the keypad for compact storage. Also, the keypad will work upto 2 metres away from the device.

I have mentioned that the design and style of the keypad is very pleasing. The keypad is tilted in an ergonomic manner in order to reduce wrist strain. The unit also has an integrated battery indicator, which flashes when the batteries are low. As this product is wireless it also has an on/off switch which allows you to turn the power off when not in use - with a USB connected keypad you simply remove the unit from the device.

Overall I must say that I am very pleased with this product. For around £20 it is very competitively priced, and I am more than willing to use a wireless product over a wired one any day. The design will not look out of place in the modern office, and with sturdy rubber pads underneath the keypad you won't be chasing it around the desk!
