Advantages: CHEAP!!!!

Disadvantages: None for me.

Warning: Writing reviews can do serious damage to your computer keyboard! I found this out the hard way when, after having my brand new computer for just a few months, the letters starting to magically vanish from the keyboard. This was not a massive problem for me, as I am pretty familiar with the layout of the keys, but it was causing real problems for my kids whenever they wanted to type anything in, as they couldn't see any of the letters! I tried various solutions, such as buying stickers, but due to my relentless typing, they wouldn't stay put either. In the end I realized that the only solution was to buy a new computer keyboard.

The last keyboard that I bought cost me about £10, so I was expoecting to pay the same amount this time. I had a pleasant surprise to see that Wilkinsons were selling this Texet MB-768B keyboard for a mere fiver! It looked like a real bargain, but the low price made me slightly doubtful of the quality. After all, I didn't want the same thing to happen all over again, did I? However, upon closer inspection, I could see that this particular keyboard had a special feature: The keys were laser printed and "fade proof". This was exactly what I wanted and bought it straight away. The keyboard was simply packaged in a box, without too much excess packaging and waste. The box was recycleable.

The keyboard was very easy to set up, being a plug and play design, with a straightforward USB connector. I unplugged the old keyboard. Plugged the new one into the USB slot at the back of the computer and waited a few seconds as the computer recognised the new hardware. Then I was ready to go!

I have now had the keyboard about 3 months and feel qualified to finally review it. I must say, I am VERY impressed with it. Firstly, it seems that the "no fade" claim was true. The keys are still looking like new, despite receiving a daily pounding from me! Secondly, the keys are really comfortable to type with. They feel soft and cushioned, so are quiet when you type, unlike my old keyboard that was really "clacky" when I was typing. I could happily tap away on this keyboard for hours without any problems, as it feels really nice when you type.

The keyboard is not cluttered with lots of unnecessary buttons, but everything you need is included and located where you would expect it to be, as well as the Windows start button and the green indicator lights on the top right hand corner to show you whether Caps lock or Num Lock is on or not. I also like the fact that the F1 to F12 keys and escape key are half sized, as it makes it less likely that you will press them accidentally!

The keyboard can be placed flat on a surface or raised slightly by means of the two plastic hinges on the back. I prefer the keyboard raised for comfort. The keyboard is also splash proof, which is a comfort, as I usually have a cuppa here next to me when I am working.

This keyboard is probably the best that I have ever used. it has all of the features I need, is comfortable and hardwearing. All of this for a mere fiver? It's a no brainer really. I think that all dooyooers should have one as standard kit!

Summary: A superb, high quality keyboard, for a mere fiver.
