Advantages: Great for writing review and surfing the t'internet!
Disadvantages: Wired technology only.
~ My personal experience ~
When it comes to keyboards I have to have the best as I do tend to type quite a bit, especially writing lots of reviews, surfing the net and even a bit of gaming. I decided I wanted a keyboard that can multitask and that is the only way to describe this keyboard.
This can do lots of functions all at the same time, for example I can open new browser windows at the push of a button and return to home using the return to home button on the keyboard. If there is anything I love the most about using computers its finding new shortcuts that can speed up the process of going back and forward between webpage's.
~ Specifications ~
The keyboard comes with a PS/2 type connection which is compatible with all recent computers unless you have a really old PC that you would even use as a toaster. The best spec about this keyboard in my opinion is that it is spill proof! Yes Spill proof! So if you read a review that is as exhilarating as this and you get excited as you do and suddenly you swipe your hot chocolate onto your keyboard, its fine your keyboard will live to see another day.
~ Compatibility ~
It is compatible with Microsoft Windows Vista and XP which most people have these days. If you're an advanced user and use older versions of windows you will be able to find drivers online so you can use it with your desired version of Microsoft Windows.
You do get the drivers (software that installs to make the keyboard work) with the keyboard so there is no need of worrying if you have download and install then from the web, you get a CD with them on.
~ Warranty ~
You get a 2 year warranty which isn't bad and so far my keyboard hasn't faltered so far. For the price this seems quite a decent warranty.
~ Key Functions ~
The main multimedia functions it supports are the following:-
* Internet browsing (tick)
* Multimedia (tick)
* Office (tick)
* Email (tick)
So this ticks all the boxes for the average PC user or laptop user as it can converted to USB which is better for laptop usage. It isn't wireless but still you don't need batteries, just good old fashioned computer power.
~ Price and shop ~
I bought my new keyboard from Micro Direct which is where I tend to buy a lot of my IT equipment. The cost was around £8 which is pretty decent for such a decent product. You can probably find it cheaper online, you might just have to do a bit of searching. It cost me £4 for postage which is a little expensive but worth it for a safe arrival.
~ To conclude...~
I think this is one of the best keyboards I have bought; yes it isn't the best technology out there but still a decent, reliable and easy to use keyboard with lots of shortcuts to feed my addiction for shortcuts.
The price is decent; the warranty is great and an overall durable product that will give you lots of years of life, especially for writing those 1000 word reviews.

- 11/11/09 I have never been a fan of keyboards with multiple buttons, the only ones I like to have are the multimedia ones so I can change my music while playing a full screen game. Back lighting is a must for me though because my computer room faces north. Great review! |

- 01/11/09 Sounds quite similar to my Microsoft keyboard - I like these basic PS/2 corded ones, since they seem more reliable to me than the cordless ones with batteries. |
