Advantages: has made my laptop fully useable again

Disadvantages: chunky laptop gets a little frustrating when it isnt positioned securely

ok so first of all i'll explain the setup
37"tv in my bedroom with my sony viao laptop plugged into it, using the television as the screen (i accidently dropped the viao on the floor and cracked the screen)
so the only way i can still make use of this laptop is by having it plugged into another screen. Then, being a little bit fussy ive got to have it looking stylish and smart, so that means no wires hanging out here and there
so i decided to get a wireless mouse and keyboard so that i can still make perfect use of it.

The wireless keyboard is useful. Although i have to be honest, im not too keen on it. Its too big. However that is about its only downfall. Its not too heavy or too light which can be a problem for some wireless keyboards in my point of view.
It takes 2 AAA batteries and unlike the mouse it cannot be run on just the one. The batteries power lasts really well tho (assuming you dont use the cheapest of the cheap from the local 99pence store.

So too big you're asking? Yes. Its too wide. There are hotkeys on both sides which personally i would prefer at the top. However they are all very useful
On the left you have :
Quick sleep. - puts the computer in standby
Home - opens an internet window on the homepage
Mail - opens the default outlook explorer webpage
* - which when on a webpage opens the favourites/history tab
Calculator - which funnily enough opens the calculator
And computer - which opens "my computer"

On the right you have:
Music - opens itunes for me
Mute - silences everything
Volume up
Volume down
Play/pause
And stop.

Other than the width of the keyboard i couldnt fault it at all. And because of this it still gets a 4/5

So this mouse has been an absolutely amazing addition to my laptop.
The mouse takes 2xAA batteries and I'm not sure whether mine just doesn't work correctly or I'm lucky but it actually workes with just 1 of the batteries in place and still the battery life is great. In months of use ive only changed it once.. Although not sure of the exact wireless range, mine works at a distance of about 3 meters from the reciever.
The buttons on the mouse are as follows:
Left button
Right button
Scroll wheel / click wheel for quickly shifting up and down and across pages.
And there are also side buttons for use with your thumb. I believe used mainly in gaming however whilst surfing the internet work as a "back page" and "forward" buttons.

For a right handed person this mouse fits very well. Maybe slightly large for some people but I think its perfect.
The mouse gets a 5/5

Its just the keyboard that I still cant forgive so it brings the total down to a 4/5

Summary: cheep and chearful, not the most stylish design, but nicer than a standard mouse and keyboard set

it works just as well over my bed linnen as it does on a mouse mat ( its a non rollerball mouse so doesnt actually require friction to pick up movement.) sorry, i probably should of pointed that out in the review.
