Maws Microwave Steriliser:
... bought this if im honest because it was cheap, £14.99 from toys r us. It included four bottles, teats, teat tongs and sterilizing tablets. I annot comment on the cold water sterilizing method as I have never used it. The microwave method is excellent. You fill up the small water well in the centre, place in all the bottles and put it in for five minutes. I would advise you wait a while before opening as a few times... Maws Variflo Teats ... purchased a Maws microwave sterilser which included bottles and the variflow teats before the birth of my first baby and never experienced any symptoms of a colickly baby at all. The variflow teat is an excellent invention. It means that your baby gets the right amount of milk at his/her own speed. With my second baby born earlier this year, i naturally wanted to replace all bottles and teats with new. The only snag being was that I couldn't find the Maws bottles and teats anywhere. I bought Avent in the end thinking that I was buying the best. I ended up having a very collicky, unsettled baby. I searched and searched for Maws again. Iin the end... Maws Disposable Breast Pads ... bought these pads as an emergency during my first trip to town after having my daughter. My H had forgotten to put some spare washable breast pads in the change bag and I was already leaking! He rushed into Boots to get me some disposable ones (which I had been determined not to use up until now!) and he just happened to get the Maws ones. Anyway, being only a couple of weeks post-partum, my milk was just flowing like mad and continued to do so for a couple of months. When I ran out of the Maws pads, I decided to get some other disposable ones and wasted quite a bit of money on different makes that ended up being as unabsorbent as the washable ones! So I'm now ... Maws Microwave Steriliser ... purchased this prior to my daughters arrival, I breastfed but knew that I would still need one. I chose it to be honest because it was cheap (I paid just £15) and included 4 wide neck bottles, teats etc , tongs and bottle brush. One of the great advantages is that if you wish you can use it as a cold water steriliser instead of just a steam one, to be honest though the steam function is so much less fuss. I like the fact that you are not worrying about chemicals too. It is big enough to fit a breast pump and bottles in, but you only get 4 of the wide neck ones in so can be awkward if you are making a full days worth up if the baby is bottlefed, for me it was just...
