i bought this cup due there being a special buy one get one free offer in boots. It is totally leak proof i even tried shacking it around but never even got a small amount out. Ur child has to have an extermely strong suck to get any juice from it the spout is also very hard which my child hates. I even think it's frustrating to suck that hard to get the juice from, and i can't imajine what it does for there teeth.
I first bought a Anyway up cup for my eldest son, who's now two and a half. He couldn't use it till he was about nine months, but once he knew that sucking resulted in juice/water, he was sucking for England. He loved it, but I hated it, the problem for me was that lid, it was practically welded on, and there was no way it would come off once it was on. I ended up having to prise it off with my teeth, sometimes resulting in a bruised lip. Why did I put up with it? Now they've brought out the new Smiley Anyway up cup, and basically its the same design, although to me a bit trendier. Bright colours to attract the kids, the same slit for the sucking action, but to me the major advantages are the measuring guide down one side of the cup, at the bottom it says 10%, so you put concentrated juice up to that line, then at the top it says 100%, so you then fill it up to this line with water, resulting in perfectly diluted juice. The other advantage is the lid, no longer a tight fit, thats murder to get off, its now a screw top fitting, much easier and quicker to get off. It also comes with a plastic cover that covers the top of the cup. Brilliant!! Buy one!!
I bought some of the original Anyway Up cups 3 years ago for my oldest child which were brilliant. They then changed the design to snap on/off lids which I couldn't open without getting the contents all over myself. When I was looking for alternative leakproof beakers for my youngest child I came across the Smiley Anyway Up cups which have screw on lids. These come in different colours. My daughter has been able to use them since she was 6 months without a problem, and have never leaked. The other good thing about the smiley ones is the line on the beaker which tells you how much juice to put in to mix to the right concentration to help protect your child's teeth.
