Advantages: Very easy to take apart and wash, great quality, brilliant
Disadvantages: Teats need replacing and bottles crack in the bottom from the bottle brush, expensive
I had some of these bottles in the small and the large size, I also had some of the Tomme Tippee bottles which came free with my steriliser. After trying both styles, each very different, I found that my daughter couldn't get away with the latter and we had to stick with the Avent ones.
When she was really tiny and her feeds were in smaller quantities the little bottles were great, although I found that we quickly moved onto the larger size.
The bottles are fantastic and are now being made by Phillips, which in my opinion gives the brand a bit more clout as I respect Phillips for their quality.
In essence I found the bottles really easy to use, they only have four parts to them, including the lids. The teat pushes easily out of the white ring and there aren't too many nooks and crannies making them very easy to clean. I also found that even though I used a different brand of steriliser the bottles and their parts fitted in just fine and there was no problem at all.
Now onto the teats. They come in a range of flow rates and I got the lightest flow with my bottles and had to buy new every time my daughter became better at drinking the milk. The teats were quite expensive, even though you got two in a pack. Also the manufacturer and other guidelines state that you should buy new teats every month as they wear away and become brittle. I found this happened with my teats, but certainly not after just a month. So I waited and vigilantly checked the teats every time I washed them, then just bought new when I thought we needed them.
The bottles are clearly marked with fl.oz and ml although I found it easier to measure in ounces, as it is one scoop of formula to one ounce of water. They look very good quality and the plastic is very thick. The only issue I had was the bottom of the bottle inside became worn from the metal part of the bottle brush, but we did use the bottles solidly for a year before this happened.
The other great thing about these bottles is you can add an extra part to it. My Mum bought us and Avent magicup to try and in the instructions it said you could put the handle onto the Avent bottle. This was great as it halped my daughter get to "grips" with holding the cup before she had to drink out of it aswell!
A fantastic bottle and I wold reccommend them to any new mum.
Summary: A great bottle which you can add bits to for easier feeding
