Advantages: Handy pots
Disadvantages: Leak
As I have mentioned in previous review, when it came to stocking up on baby related products when I was pregnant with my first bubba, I was completely clueless. I knew I wanted to breastfeed yet I was also sure that I wanted the option of expressing milk and giving the odd bottle. I did my research and opted for the Avent breast pump and microwave steriliser and after a few weeks I was sure that I had made the right decision by going with this brand.
A couple of months after she was born, things had settled down and I was ready for a meal out with my friends. I looked for options for storing the milk so it could be stored in the freezer and again Avent seemed the obvious choice. I found this kit in a big branch of Mothercare and snapped it up. I've just checked online and I believe it now costs £8.49. I opted for this set as it is fully compatable with the Avent breast pump and bottles.
The set includes 10 x 180ml steri-packed cups, 10 reusable lids and 2 feeding adaptors. The feeding adaptor mean that you can use these cups with the Avent breast pump and then also connect it to a Avent bottle teat without the need of transfering the milk into a different container. Each cup as a reusable lid which screws on firmly.
The great thing about these cups is that they are also great for weaning, they make perfect containers for those early days of weaning when your bubba is just having the tiniest amount of something like pureed carrot or good old sweet potato.
On the downside, I don't really rate these cups for storing milk. They all just seemed to leak when I used them and it really put me off. I much preferred using the storage bags.... they take up less room in the freezer and tranferring the milk to a bottle really isn't an issue as far as i'm concerned.
I would definately recommend buying a box of these for weaning purposes but I do believe that there are better option for storing milk.
Summary: Go with the bags instead
