Advantages: practical but expensive

Disadvantages: not worth it just for food

We brought these from boots with our first child, i had opted to breast feed to begin with but also purchased a breast pump for me to be able to express milk for when we went out and also so that hubby could get involved with feeding our baby too.

These were an obvious choice as the rest of the range i had brought, bottles, steraliser and breast pump were avent.

The containers are dish washer, microwave and freezer proof which was great as i could steralise them in my microwave steraliser and store them in my freezer for upto 3 months.

The containers screwed directly onto my avent breast pump so i found these easier to use for storage than the plastic bag storage which was the other option as i didnt have to transfer the milk to anything else to store it.

The lids are exactly the same as on the bottles with a screw on top so are good at preventing leaks and keeping the milk germ free.

Each container holds 125 ml of fluid and the lid has a sealing ring in the middle that can be replaced with a teat for feeding which makes these ideal for taking with you.

I used these for the first few months with my daughter and used to store the breast milk in them for going out and put the sealing ring in instead of the teat to prevent spillages, i would then put the teat in the lid and put the lid on the bottle ready for use when we needed them.

These retail at around £10 for 4 which basically you are getting 4 bottles and 4 sealing rings, the breast pump itself came with two sealing rings so that allowed us enough for 6 bottles but you used to be able to buy the sealing rings seperately so this may be better if you already have the bottles.

These are supposed to double as a food container when your child starts weaning but to be honest if you are not going to be breast feeding there are cheaper food containers available.

Summary: a god idea if you are breast feeding but not worth it just as a food container

I think for expressing the plastic bags are better - avent do a special bottle that will fit these so you don't transfer, you also don't have to sterilise.
