Advantages: warm the milk faster. probably a good way to freeze breastmilk

Disadvantages: see opinion

I was lucky enough to be given al lot of baby stuff from a friend of mine while I was expecting and amongst the bits and bobs were some bottle bags for the Avent Disposable system.
I read up about it and it seemd like a great idea so I bought a couple of holders for them.
The system basically consists of:
Bottle bags
Bottle bag clips
Holders
and a travel kit that has a unit for sealing your teat, locking cap and lid.
Most of these bits you can buy seperately as well as in a complete kit.
The idea is that you can store expressed milk in the bottle bags in the fridge or freezer and they take up much less room than ordinary bottles.
Unfortunatley I didn't get to breastfeed at home ( a whole other story!) but I still intended to use them for formula milk. You can just mix it up and store it in the bags in the fridge taking up a lot less room than bottles.
In theory!
For a start, the bags will only store upto 5 or 6 oz with the clip on so when Jake was still quite young I was having to make the bags up in the holders and store them like that so not being any more space saving than a standard bottle!
I suppose the theory is good but it just doesn;t seem to work. The only real advantage is that milk warms up a lot faster as it isn't heating through a bottle, just a bag. For this reason, I still use mine for the night/morning feed when neither Jake or myslelf have the patience to wait for it to warm for long!
Apart from that, not really worth it!
