I bought these when my children were about five weeks old as I was fed up of seeing how much milk was being wasted while I was expressing/feeding from one side.

The shells are hard plastic domes with a soft silicone backing which clips on around the edge. They are placed over the breast with the nipple through a hole in the baacking. This means that all leaking milk runs down into the shell and can then be poured into a bottle/milk storage container.

Two sets of shells are supplied in the pack, one with ventilation holes for if the milk is not going to be kept and one without holes for milk which is going to be stored.

I also use my shells to collect milk which I hand express when my babies don't latch on properly and I need to drain a painful duct. Again I can then store this instead of throwing it away.

I did assume that I would be able to use these anywhere but they really are very, very obvious so I only use them at home.

Summary: Good for collecting leaking milk for storing for later use
