WHAT ARE THEY?

Teats to fit Avent baby feeding bottles.  The teats come in different flow rates for newborn babies or older babies but will all fit the two sizes of bottle made by Avent.

THE DESIGN

The teat that goes in baby's mouth is very upright compared to other brands of teat, the shape helps babies who are not confident feeders to grip the teat in their mouth and attain the art of sucking.

ARE THEY ANY GOOD?

They are the best teats, they slot into the space in the collar of the bottle easily and do not have crinkled sections to make cleaning them harder.  You must make sure the teats are pulled through correctly because I've noticed with these that when I shake my baby daughter's bottle the milk will fly out if the teat isn't pulled through enough.  Once they are in position there will be no leaks or drips even if you tip the bottle upside down.

My daughter is seven weeks old and she couldn't suck through the newborn teat so I moved her up a level and with the larger holes she can now drink her milk without having to work too hard.  My middle daughter also used Avent bottles and teats and even when she had teeth and was biting she didn't manage to bite a hole in the silicone, she bit through some Tommee Tippee teats so badly that she nearly choked on the end piece when it came away so quickly.

You can turn the teats inside out to make sure they are clean before sterilising, this is important at this time of year because any milk you've left on the teat can breed germs very quickly in the heat.  They can be used with all sterilisers and because the teat is narrower than Tommee Tippee they will fit into smaller sterilisers without having to force them and lose space.

Avent teats come in packs of 2 and cost about £4, that sounds expensive but it's still a lot cheaper than replacing the bottles if anything happens to the teat.

4 Dooyoo Stars.
