      Very helpful

      A brilliant toddler cup

Having been a fan of the Magicup range for several months before needing a larger, more grown up example, it seemed natural for us to simply size up when Christopher and Elsa needed larger cups and go for the Sportster version

      Avent Magic Sportster-
The Sportster cups come in come with several parts just like their smaller relatives the Magicup, you get the main cup, the detachable handle, the unscrew lid and the removable flip lid cover. The spouts feature a clear latex style valve which regulates the flow of the drink, by this age your little one has mastered the sucking motion needed to use such cups and the valve is now solely for the purpose of stopping leaks.

Just as with the regular 6 & 9 month Magicups the Sportster comes in a range of bright colours and all the parts are mix and match, they even fit onto the smaller cups and the smaller cup components fit onto the Sportster. A particularly handy feature if your little one needs lots of juice but isn't strong enough to handle the larger, single handled cup, all you do is use the 2 handled one from your previous cup. The handle on the Sportster is designed more like a clip, it easy for little ones to hold onto but can also be attached to a trouser belt for example or a travel bag etc making them easy to carry and transport.

The Sportster is suitable for children over the age of 18 months, although Elsa was always able to manage it before that age, and holds 12oz (340ml) of your little ones chosen beverage, which can be warm or cold. They are dishwasher and steriliser safe.

      Price & Availability-
I usually get the cups from Boots or Toys R Us, although prices do vary and other places such as Mothercare & even Asda stock them, prices range from £4.99 for the Sportster cup.

      Our Experience-
Both my little ones use the Sportster cups currently, although we do have a few 9 months cups lurking around which we'll use if going out and space is an issue. They progressed onto the Sportsters at about 18 months when they were toddling around more and less interested in coming back to me to pester me for a top up.

Just as with the smaller cups I love that the handles and other components all come apart, it really does make the cups easier to clean and ensure there are no nasty germs lurking about, these cups have a habit of finding themselves in all manner of yucky places, abandoned in the garden, sandpits..........you name it the cup will end up there. The screw on top fits tightly over the handle and also over the smaller cups double handle which is great if your little one isn't quite strong enough to manage the single handle, it can, however, be used without the handles and there's no risk of coming loose and spilling or leaking in any way.

The flip lid of the Sportster means that it's less likely to come off and go missing like the separate lids from the Magicups do, after all toddlers do move around a lot so It's good to know the spout is in someway covered from all the grime they'll come in contact with, they are however removable, once again meaning they are easy to clean.

The Sportster cups come from good breeding, they are durable, easy to clean, don't leak or spill, you can put the cups through hell, and believe me most toddlers will, and the cup comes out fighting. Christopher has had his cups for about 18 months and we're still using the same 2 as we first purchased, they last really well, ok there's a few chew marks on the spout but they are well worth the money for the amount of use you get from them.

The kids tend to scrap over who's cup is who's nowadays so the range of colours available safes us a lot of hassle, Christopher gets blue and yellow while Elsa gets pink and orange, that way there's no confusion or fighting. This option to give them noticeably different coloured cups also proves handy as Christopher is allergic to cows milk so we don't want him getting his mixed up with Elsas and him having a nasty reaction as a result.

An excellent cup for more active toddlers, durable and non-spill........I can highly recommend them.
