Great steriliser (Avent Steam Steriliser)

Advantages: Easy to use, great value for money, Quick

Disadvantages: The only disadvantag is that you have to remember to descale.... small disadvantage

When I was pregnant with my first little boy, i went into Mothercare and saw this big pack of Avent products for about £100. It had pretty much everything you should need to sterilising, breast pumping, bottle warming etc. So i thought it was a bargain. I didn't really do much research into which sterilisers are the best or better value for money, I just saw that deal and went with it.

Anyway, as my son was 6 weeks early, he wouldn't take to the breast and I was so adamant that he had breast milk, I resorted to entirely pumping for four months. It was hard work, but I can honestly say that the Avent steriliser along with it's other products made things much easier for me. All you have to do is wash your bottles, pump etc in soapy water, rinse then and in the steriliser they go. Pour 90mils of water(they give you an easy to use measuring cup) and switch it on. About 8 minutes later, all done.

What I loved about this steriliser is that you could leave all the stuff in there for a few hours and it would stay sterilised providing that you didn't open the lid. So for me that was a very useful feature. So if I had to pump in the middle of the night, I could just stick the pump in there before I went to bed.... easy. You can also fit quite a few things in there so it doesn't feel like you're sterilising all the time.

And since I've had another little boy, there was no doubt that I was going to go for another trusty Avent.

All in all, I'd give this product 10/10 and reccomend to anyone.
