Good for baby but some drawbacks (Avent Twin Bottle)

Advantages: Good for wind and have adapters for each stage

Disadvantages: May not fit bottle warmer

Avent bottles are certainly the best in terms of their teat design. They seem to reduce wind and colic in young babies due to their vari-flow/cross teats.

Two main drawbacks I found were:-

1. They do not fit in certain types of bottle warmer systems. Avent do, of course, make their own bottle warmer.

2. As baby becomes more independent, the bottles are difficult them to hold. You can get a handle to adapt the bottle but neither of my children were very keen on them until they reached 14 months or so.

Some other plus points, although they didn't work for my two, are the various other adapters eg. flexispout and straw which can be bought. On the whole, these adapters tend to be sold as part of a bottle rather than as individual items.

I think Avent are worth the extra cost and if bought as a pack, this element reduces.
