Advantages: excellent for swopping babies from breast to bottle

Disadvantages: a little more expensive than some other bottles

I breastfed my son for 12 weeks, before trying to introduce one bottle feed a day. I was advised to use the Avent bottles as they have a big, wide teat that allows the baby to feed as if it is on the breast, suckling rather than sucking. I had to persist with keep offering my baby a bottle and eventually he took to it. He is still breastfed and finds it easy to switch from the breast to the bottle & back again due to the excellent design of this bottle. As well as being good for babies who are also breastfed or who are being switched from breast to bottle, the wide neck makes putting the formula into the bottle really easy, you can't miss! The other good thing about the Avent bottles is that they can be adapted to form beakers, by adding handles & a soft spout (available separately) this makes these bottles last a long time and means you don't have to buy a separate beaker when training your child to use one. The Avent range is really excellent I would recommend these bottles to everyone. They are a little more expensive than some standard bottles but they are a very good investment.
