Advantages: absorbant, reusable

Disadvantages: visible under clothing

I gave birth to my baby at the end of may and didn't realise how valuable the washable breast pads from Avent would be. I received lots of free samples of disposable breast pads from various places but I bought these ones and found them to be the best.

Any breastfeeding mum knows how much your boobs can leak - especially at the wrong time! Just the sound of another baby cying in the supermarket can set them off!! The last thing you want is for any embarassing marks and leaks to show up through your clothes.

I found the washable pads from Avent very good. They absorb any leaks I have and don't let any milk leak through.

They have a brushed cotton lining which is soft and gentle against the skin and absorbant padding which draws the moisture away from the skin and traps it against the leakproof liner. They are much more breathable than disposable pads.

They are lace backed which is supposed to help them be non-slip - although it looks pretty I still find that they move about under my clothes. They are also quite thick so they are quite visible under clothing also.

They are machine washable and come with a laundry mesh bag so you can wash them all together and not lose them.

They come in a box of 6 pads (3 pairs) with the bag and costs £4.99

They are good value for money and saves you a fortune than if you bought disposable ones. As there are only 3 pairs in a pack I would buy several packs so that you don't have to wash them as often.

They could be improved in my opinion by being a bit contoured so that they fit over the breast better and are less visible but on the whole good value and worth the money.

Summary: absorbent, good value

I don't seem to be making enough milk for it to leak anywhere, I suppose I should count myslef lucky in this respect...
