Advantages: Cheap so you can have plenty for when they get dirty.

Disadvantages: Harder to find, not as much choice for colour.

When getting ready for my first baby I was put off by the price of blankets.

I was at the car-boot sale and found a stall selling blankets that were seconds. £2 for pram size and £4 for cot size.

I bought mostly cot size as these can be doubled up for in the crib or pram. I got a couple of pram size with lovely designs on.

Try bargain shops like More Store, W.E.W, Poundstrecher, B Wise etc. You may like brand names and fancy lables but babies don't care as long as they are warm and safe. You don't have to fork out endless amounts of money honestly.
