- Why I Bought -
Before my son was born I bought a Bee Bo bib in TKMaxx when I spotted it reduced to 30p. I figured I had nothing to lose if it wasn't very good but it looked fine and the design was cute.
- The Bib -
Our Bee Bo bib is a small cotton bib suitable for newborns. It is very soft and has a cute design. The main bib is cream with a sweet picture embroidered in the centre of a teddy bear taking a duck for a walk. The edge of the bib and neck hole is ribbon which I think makes a nice touch. The ribbon is cream with stripes in different shades of brown/beige. The colours of the bib are very neutral and unisex creams, browns, beiges and yellows. It is a fairly average size for a baby bib of this kind. They are ideal for newborns up to around four months. It fastens with Velcro at the back of the neck which is very easy. I think the bib is cute and practical.
- In Use -
We used this bib frequently in those early days when spitting up was common. When you go somewhere nice or you are showing your new baby off to friends you want them to wear a very cute outfit. I was reluctant to cover these outfits with a bib but was also worried about the clothes becoming marked from sick. This bib was ideal for these occasions because it was just as cute as the outfits! It protected my son's clothes well. It was a good size and seemed comfortable for my son. I didn't find the bib to be as absorbent as other bibs we used but it was adequate. The Velcro is easy enough to open and close and the neck size was perfect for a newborn up until around four months. I would recommend using larger and less cute bibs once you start to wean baby as this would quickly get ruined by food stains and wouldn't adequately protect clothes. It is best suited to protecting clothes from milk and sick.
- Cleaning -
This bib is machine washable and always washed well for me, usually on a 40°C wash with similar colours. My only complaint is that the ribbon started to bobble after a few washes which made the bib look a little tired and not such good quality. It can be tumble dried, although I always chose to dry it naturally which was fairly quick.
- Price and Availability -
Bee Bo bibs are currently available on Amazon in a few different designs. They are priced at £2.99 plus £2.75 postage per bib which I think is a little steep even though they are cute. I think I got a bargain at 30p!
- Would I Recommend? -
I would recommend Bee Bo bibs. They are a good size, practical, soft, cute, and reasonable quality. I wish they were a little more absorbent and didn't bobble after washing though. It is worth getting some if you can find a bargain like I did.
