Advantages: Easy to work.
Disadvantages: Baby will be screaming by the time it works.
I bought i this bottle warmer for my second baby Jasmine after a got fed up trying to hunt about for a jug to heat the bottle up with boiled water
It is very simple and does come with instructions. Simply fill it will some water from the tap and turn the knob to the symbol of your choice. That's either a small bottle, large bottle and food. Each symbol has a different temperature and the instructions will tell you how long to wait. The warmer also comes with a small plastic bowl that has wings so you can sit it on top to heat food up. It is quite small (about the size of a pint glass.) and is plain white with blue knob.
So heating up the bottles, what can i say apart from it takes ages. I didnt bother with the time guide as it wasnt working for me. My bottles were coming chilled from the fridge and always took longer than what it suggested. I also didnt bother adjusting the knob, i always had it on full so it wouldn't take so long.
The problem was that it doesnt tell you when the bottle is ready and although it has a light it is only clicks on an off as the thermostat goes on and off. So for me because i alsway have it on full i have forgottom and the bottle gets too warm. Ooops.
Heating up food. I only did this twice because it was such a ridiculas waste of time. I poured the contents of a jar into the small bowl and sat it on top of the warmer and waited....and waited.....and waited. Good God i was there for 15 minutes before i finally gave up and stuck it in the microwave. (Which i know your not meant to do for baby food but Jasmine was howling by this time.) I did try it again but again i gave up waiting. The bowl is very small and i cant use it for anything now as you can only put a small jar's worth in it which isnt enough for Jasmine. I havent tryed it but i think it would be easier just to put the jar into the warmer and heat it up that way.
Im not sure wither i would recomend this product. It is very handy i suppose and if you keep it on full power it will only take about 5 minutes to heat the bottle. It's easy to clean but you do need to rinse it out and replace the water every couple of days. It only cost a shade less than £10 and i bought it on my boots card so it didnt really cost me anything.
Overall
Easier than boiling the kettle and finding a jug.
Takes longer and it rubbish at heating food up.
I've had i think and i think i would recommend it but only because of the ease of the product. I think it would be good for first time mums who might not be sure about milk temperature.
Summary: Handy but very slow.
