... bought these as I was desperate for another pack (I find it's best to have at least 2 packs of 6 on the go) - these would not have been my first choice initially as my gut reaction is to go with the better known brands however compared to my leading brand these are surprisingly far more absorbent which lets face it is THE most important thing when considering a breast pad. They are nothing to look at - very plain - no fancy lace work on them but at the end of the day if they do their job they get five stars from me!...more

Premium Review Boots Breast Pads: Boots Shaped Disposable Breast Pads - Expensive and Ineffici ... (751 words)

I am reviewing Boots Shaped Disposable Breast Pads. Boots also do a Luxury Breast Pad. Breast pads are an essential item to protect your clothes from staining and to keep your nipples dry between feeds or until your milk dries up (if you are formula feeding). Your breasts can leak milk even between feeds if you pick your baby up, hear them crying or even just think about him or her. If you do not keep them dry they can become sore and cracked, which is painful and can interfere with breastfeeding. -- PRODUCT DESCRIPTION -- Boots Shaped Disposable Breast Pads are circular in shape. They have a waterproof backing, with an absorbent ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Keeping me dry. (357 words)

Another product I used when I had my children were the Boots Breast Pads. When you have a child, regardless of whether you intend to breast feed or not, your breasts will fill with milk and then if you decide against breast feeding for whatever reason the milk will dry up. If you decide to continue with feeding, your milk will continue to be produced. The problem is, although this doesn't happen to everyone, that your breasts can leak milk and if there is no protection in your bra, then you will end up looking ridiculous and feeling very wet and uncomfortable. These breast pads have a waterproof backing on them which prevents the excess milk from ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Boots Breast Pads: absorbent and good fit - well worth it (168 words)

I am reviewing Boots Washable Breast Pads. These come in a box of 6 in a light pink packet. They are available in the larger Boots stores which have a baby department. These pads are cotton, with a heavier plasticy-fabric backing on one side, and a soft cotton fabric on the other side. This helps if you're tired and not sure which way round they go! They also have quite a contoured fit that helps them stay in place. They are very comfortable and amply absorbent. I haven't had any leaks. I have been putting them in with my normal wash at 30 degrees and they've come out clean and fine. They also come with a small net bag, which helps with washing and ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Surprisingly good (179 words)

These are great. I'm afraid one of the most essential post-pregnancy buys that you need (if you breastfeed) are breast pads. If you do not use them you end up with icky milk seeping through your bra and top!I prefer to use washable firstly because they are a lot more economical for your pocket than disposable ones and secondly because they are more eco friendly. And i must say the Boots washable type are AMAZING! I only bought these as I was desperate for another pack (I find it's best to have at least 2 packs of 6 on the go) - these would not have been my first choice initially as my gut reaction is to go with the better known brands however compared to my leading ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Boots Breast Pads: Next to useless! (138 words)
by - written on 23/07/03 (Somewhat useful, 30 readings)

I sent my husband out to buy some breast pads for me and he came back with these. 'great' I thought 'a nice huge box, these won't run out for ages!'. I was right - the box is still nearly full two months on! I suppose these might be useful if your breasts dripped only a millilitre or so a day, but if you're like me and get rather large leakages at the cry of a baby, they are next to useless. They filled up almost instantly, and that's if they were even covering my nipples, which, due to they're size and design, didn't seem to happen very often! I might as well have not been wearing any and saved myself the money. Don't buy ...  Read the complete review
