Advantages: Can store all sorts of home made meals

Disadvantages: Lids can pop off but his can be avoided

The Boots range of small storage pots you can buy are very handy for use when weaning. The Boots freezer pots we had come as either a set of 1 oz or 3 oz pots. We found them handy for use when making up all kinds of baby food items and so would recommend them.

Once you have finished using the Boots Freezer Pots for the children you can still use them at home for storing herbs, spices, etc and they can even be used to store craft items like glitter and stick ons in too. The Boots Freezer Pots are reasonably priced and long lasting in use. They are easy to clean and store and worth looking in to.

The smaller 1 oz pots come as a set of 8 pots in a set. You will pay around £3.49 for these, which works out as around 44p per pot. One thing I have to say is that these are teeny! They hold a miniscule mouse like amount of anything, although we knew that when we got them. They are a simple frosted/ opaque pot with a semi clear but coloured lid, they have a kind of indented side bit to them which is not shown here.

If using these to freeze things rather than just store in the fridge you are best using these all set up on a small plastic tray that you can place them all on uncapped and then put the whole kit and kaboodle into the freezer for a short while. Once almost frozen, pop the lids on and place them stacked in the freezer without the tray. This will make for quicker more even freezing and easy storage and will stop the lids from popping off during freezing too.

The larger Boots Freezer Pots are the 3 oz once and these are exactly the same, just a bit bigger. Even though I say these are larger they are still small but they need to be as they were bought to store small amounts of food in not a full adult sized meal. The style and shape is fine and the lids do go on well, as long as when freezing you follow the instructions above. You get 4 of these for the same £3.49.

Our Boots Freezer Pots could be filled with all sorts of nice baby friendly goodies. The very small pots can be used when making up nice tasty gravies and a small amount of that can be placed into each pot to about 3/4 full. This can then be used to mix into some mashed potato/ veg. We also used these small pots to store fruit puree in, as we found that making up batches of these to store in the freezer meant we always had something to mix in with baby rice to give a bit more variety.

The lager pots can be used to store mashed potato and mash and veg mixes, which were perfect to use with the small pots of gravy mix. They can also store small soft pasta shapes with a light sauce and then be easily reheated when needed. We found the larger pots were very handy in this way and the combination of the two sizes gave just enough of a baby sized meal to satisfy.

The pots can be sterilised in cold water if needed so that they are nice and safe to use with your child and we found them to be very handy. I would give the pots a 4 star rating as you can buy similar small pots almost anywhere that will do the same thing, but are not marked up as a baby/ child care item.
They do work well and can be a very helpful and efficient way to store batches of home made baby meals.

Summary: Handy to make up and store meals ready for use
