Advantages: Good idea
Disadvantages: None
When you are feeding a toddler or a little baby a splash mat is a really handy item to have. It doesn't really bother me when we are at home as we have a tiled kitchen floor and I can jsut clean it up with some wet wipes or more often than not I just let my dog lick up the dropped foot but when we are at someone else's house I try not to make a mess. My parents have carpet at their house and so foods like spaghetti and other messy foods need a mat underneath them to catch them and stop the floor from becoming stained.
These mats are such a good idea. They fit easily in my change bag so I don't have to worry about remembering to take them each time I go and only need to use them when I am out or in somewhere that needs extra protection. What I do is lay the mat on the floor first and then I put the high chair over it so you get a good covering around the bottom of the high chair that is covered. Of course some bits of food do eat up way off the amt but the fact that the bits that fall down on their own will stay on this mat is great.
What I like about these mats is that they have sticky edges on them so you can press it down on the floor and they will stay in place until you need to pull them up again. This is helpful I find if I am having to move the highchair about, the mat will stay in place and more importantly the food that has already dropped on it will stay in place too. What I like about these mats too is that you can use them again. I find if they don't get too dirty I can just fold them up and use them again at another point in time meaning that they are quite cost effective.
An easy solution to cleaner floors.
