Advantages: Can be used when they outgrow the bouncy chair

Disadvantages: Baby 1 could escape, baby 3 can't reach his toys

This is a rubber seat for a baby that can support her own head, up to about a year. It looks a bit like an outsize potty.

It is soft and looks comfortable, it is very stable, and it is lightweight (so good to chuck in the car and take out with you). Its wipe-clean too.

The idea is that babies reach a stage when they want to sit up, but can't, and this seat enables them to (although you probably have a bouncy chair for that). After that they reach a stage where they can sit up and wriggle around and you want them to stay put for a bit - so you can put them in this seat (they've outgrown the bouncy chair by this point). Later, when they can walk around, they can go and use it as their own little seat when they want to.

So far, so good. It is very supportive so it is ok for a smallish baby.

I bought it for my daughter at around 6 months, because she was supposed not to be able to get out of it. Yeah, right! Miss escape-artist had NO problem wriggling around in it and nose-diving over the back onto the floor with a thud. I have to surround it with cushions which was not the idea!

It served better with my first son, who was bigger and more placid - he used to sit in and watch the washing machine!

But useless again with my second son - he is not so easily entertained and wants toys to play with. Then he drops them, and can't reach them because he is raised off the floor a bit. I need one with a little table across it.

It major use is by my older children, now 3 and 6 - they both sit in it!

Summary: 1 out of 3 - not really worth it
