Advantages: May help with weaning in the early stages

Disadvantages: Might be uncomfortable for some babies

I thought this was going to be the answer to my problems - I had just started weaning my son and found that his bouncy chair wasn't the best for this, as he'd learnt to bounce as I was heading towards him with the spoon resulting in it either going down his throat or in his eye! Anyway, it was good to start with, I'd say I used it for maybe 2 or 3 weeks (my son was about 5 months old) but after that he found it uncomfortable, as the position it puts them in made his nappy cut into his stomach - not really what you want when you're eating! They're a good idea and some people get a lot of use out of them. My advice would be to borrow one if you can first to see if your baby likes it, then buy one if they do and if they don't like it, you've saved yourself £30. I went straight to a highchair after this, propping him up with a cushion which he much preferred.

Summary: Good idea but not every baby will like it
