A bumbo for those new to the product is a baby seat designed for use from when your baby is able to support their own head. Their bodies are fully supported so they are safe and secure in them.
They come in a variety of colours and I wouldn't have been without bumbos for my little ones, they started using them from about 4 months and stopped once they could climb out of them at about a year old. They were great as another position to have them in allowing them a different view of the room when they were spending a lot of the time laying down as were unable to sit without support.
You can get play trays that clip onto the front of the bumbo once your baby is seated inside. I used to put toys on the playtray so they would happily sit and play in them.
Another great use to the bumbo was for weaning. When I first started weaning as my little ones weren't big enough for their highchairs, having twins I wasn't able to hold them both to feed so the bumbo held them in an upright position to enable me to feed them both at the same time. I carried on using them as a portable highchair until they grew out of them as they were handy to pop in the car for travel too if I was going to be feeding at a friends house.
The bumbo is lightweight so easy to move around the house if you want to keep baby nearby whilst your catching up on housework. I also used to take them outside so they could sit in the shade whilst I put the washing out. Very easy to clean and hard wearing a great buy for this stage of development.
