WHAT IS IT?

A tray that clips onto any Bumbo baby seat.  It can be used for play, first craft activities and feeding.  The tray costs £10 from Amazon.

THE DESIGN

It is a white curved tray and looks very small but is proportionate in size to the babies that sit I. Bumbo seats.  The tray has a small lip around the edge but it is too shallow to prevent things from falling off.  It is easy to clip into place but you need to apply some force so should make sure your baby's hands are not in the way, your baby needs to be sitting in the Bumbo seat before you attach the tray.

WHAT I THINK

I first bought this Play Tray when my older daughter was a baby and I have recently taken it out of storage for my new baby.  It feels sturdy and the clip holds it secure until an adult removes the tray so your baby cannot free themselves.  I like how easy it is to clean because there are no crevices for dirt to collect, I wash it in the sink after every use and then spray it with antibacterial spray because it is too large to sterilise.

My older daughter was a large baby but the tray didn't dig into her, her baby sister is much slimmer so she will have lots of room.  My daughter liked having something to bang down on the tray and when she was older I used crayons with her to draw pictures, if she missed the paper the crayon wipes off the tray very easily.

It is nice to feed your baby while they are sitting in their Bumbo seat because they can interact better being in such an upright position.  If your baby starts eating finger foods early on the tray is good for putting pieces of toast or fruit on, the lip halts the food enough to help their fingers pick it up. I don't put the feeding bowl on the tray because it can be too easily knocked off.

The Play Tray is a very good idea and it helps babies to interact with the rest of the family as well as teaching them to be independent from a young age.  The only thing you have to be careful of is your baby leaning over to pick a dropped toy up, my daughter tipped the whole Bumbo over leaning over and that was when I put the tray away because it became a danger to her safety.
