Advantages: Folds away easily

Disadvantages: Can be hard to clean

When the time came to buy highchairs for my twin sons we had a very small kitchen. Two highchairs can take up a lot of space, so for this reason we wanted chairs that could easily be folded down and put away. We came across the Cosatto On the Move highchair in Mothercare and it
seemed ideal.

The On the Move highchair has a lightweight metal frame, with padded PVC seat and plastic tray. Once erected is it a pretty standard highchair size (98 x 63 x 64cm) however there is a mechanism behind the seat whereby with which one quick sqeeze you can fold the chair in half into a flat shape, measuring 70 x 63, and just 11cm thick. This very slim folded shape means you can easily tuck it away behind a door or under a table, freeing up lots of space when it isn't in use. It is very easy to fold, and it can be done one-handed. Equally it is very easy to put up. The chair is relatively lightweight, so it is also great for visiting or holidays as it packs into the car boot with no problem.

The high chair has a five-point harness and is suitable from 6 months. The seat is padded and seems comfortable, and is attached to the chair by press-studs so that it stays in place, but can be removed for cleaning if needs be. The tray is plastic and very easy to clean. The only problem we experienced with this high chair was in cleaning the straps and buckles on the harness, although I think this is probably a feature common to most highchairs. The harness can be removed from the chair however and we put it through the wash a couple of times without problem.

The Cosatto On the Move highchair is available in various different colourways, with different patterned seat covers. We purchased ours from Mothercare, where it is currently available for £59.99, which compared to some highchairs on the market represents good value for money. If you are short of space, or after a highchair which it is possible to transport, I would definately recommend the Cosatto On the Move highchair.
