Advantages: stylish, practical, easy to push around and steer
Disadvantages: expensive
A month to go before the birth of our daughter and my parents offered to buy us some form of pushchair/pram. With so many on the market it was hard to choose. By visiting a few shops we realised we needed to read up on the lingo and do some serious research. What did we want from a pushchair/pram? practical, stylish, easy to use, one that would last, eeasy to steer (we also have a dog). What didn't we want? one too bulky, too heavy, not brightly coloured!! We found ourselves staring at everyones pushchairs when we went shopping, something we had never given a second thought to before. We became serious pushchair critics. I searched the internet and narrowed down my choice. I decided on the 3 wheel styles purely for looks if I am honest and in the back of my mind I told myself I might want to walk over the fields close to our house. In reality I carry our daughter in a child carrier!! Once I had narrowed it down, off we went to a pram/pushchair warehouse. Isn't is strange in these places where the women walk round stating which ones they like and the fathers treat each pushchair as if they were formula ones cars, revving the engines, checking out the brakes and seeing if there are gears or optional extras!! We both liked the Everest, particularly as unlike most 3 wheel styles you can buy a pram attachment which we used as a moses basket as it is so well padded. Another great idea is that the carseat attachment slots onto to the chasis on the pushchair and is a newborn pushchair in itself (see picture), great for shopping. There is no chance of a child getting lost in a big pushchair. Finally you can convert it into the traditional looking 3 wheel pushchair. Opitional extras include a foot muff and sun umbrella. I have lost count of the times I have been stopped and had the travel system admired. It is expensive on paper but it has been well designed, extremely padded and it is so robust
. You sre able to open it up from a closed position with a flick of one wrist whilst holding the baby in your other arm! Despite its size, it is very light. It is also designed to adapt to your growing child, so hopefully I will be using it for many more years.
