When I needed to buy a highchair for my daughter a lot of my friends were getting quite bogged down in comparing chairs which were over £100 each. Although price wasn't the factor for me, several friends with older children told me about this and wished they'd bought it, or had bought it as a spare and used it rather than the pricey ones. It isn't the most attractive piece of kit (I like the tripp trapp for looks and wipe downability) we have the red one as it is the only one in stock on one of our mammoth trips to IKEA. It isn't cushioned and my daughter often knocks her head on the back when having a bit of a food related wobbly (frequent) but at least she ... Read the complete review

We started to think about buying a highchair for our daughter when she was around 4months old as we knew we would need to buy one in the coming weeks/months and wanted to be prepared. We went to all the big stores like toys r us, mamas & papas and mothercare. We were quite shocked at the prices really, we figured they were probably around £15 or £20 but for that price all we could find was something flimsy that didn't look like it was up to the job at all. All of the (what looked like) decent highchairs were around £50 - £100 and even then we came across ones which cost considerably more. In the end we picked one from Mamas & Papas which cost £30. ... The Ikea high chair is very basic but in my opinion it does the job required and at an extremely low price. As with a lot of the Ikea furniture items are individually priced so with this high chair you have to also buy the clip on tray and the padded insert if the baby is still small. The basic high chair is £10.99, the tray to clip on is £4 and if the baby is still small they sell a blow up insert at £4.99 which gives additional support at the back and sides to help keep the baby upright. So the total package comes in at £19.98 or £14.99 if you don't need the insert, which is still extremely cheap. The chair comes in 3 colours white, blue and red, the ... Read the complete review

I highly recommend this highchair and think its totally fabulous! Having searched for a highchair for our young baby, I was getting disheartened as they all seemed to be around the £100 mark which I felt was excessive. Then I stumbled across some reviews for the Ikea Antilop and decided to check it out. It really is basic and functional but so effective. I really dont know why anyone would need anything else from a highchair. One of the criticisms is that it dosent have a padded chair, but to me this is a plus as there are no places for food to hide and it wipes clean in seconds. And its not like you are putting your child in there all day so it ... Read the complete review

The Ikea Antilop is a fairly basic but perfectly functional highchair, it comprises of a sturdy white seat which has a bar between the legs to stop baby fallling through, 4 detachable legs and a detachable tray. There is a fabric harness to secure baby if he tries to pull himself up and out of the chair. Mine came with a padded insert seat with Winnie the Pooh on it at no extra cost, but I have seen them since without this. It is probably the cheapest highchair I have ever seen at just £23 (£19 if you don't want the tray, but I'd suggest you do buy this bit). **Pros 1. The cost - At just £23 it's a great bargain. 2. ...
