Advantages: Clean and hygienic.
Disadvantages: None
I wish I had bought this highchair for my 1st child rather than wasting money on other more impressive looking padded highchairs which quickly lost their appeal, as they were a pain to keep clean and had pointless features which were never used.
This highchair is quite basic but it does everything it needs to do, and seats a child comfortably. Both my 7 month old and my 2 year old use this (taking it in turns - cant fit 2 highchairs in my kitchen), and both are comfortable in the seat. You can get inflatable inserts to go in the seat to support a young baby but my 7 month old does not need that, he is fine without it and has been fine since 6 months when I started him sitting in the chair, so I don't feel the insert would be needed.
What I like most about this highchair is how easy it is to keep it clean, as it does not have any padding and creases to hide behind. With my previous 2 highchairs I was forever having to take the seat padding off and clean out crumbs from behind it, which was not the most pleasant task and wasted a lot of time 3x per day. As there are no nooks and crankies in this chair there is literally nowhere for crumbs or dried food to hide so you can be certain that it is absolutely clean. Being white plastic also makes it suitable to easily bleach the whole thing with no discoloration taking place.
The footprint of this highchair on the floor is not too big, however I don't think it folds down. although I may be wrong but don't see how it could be folded. It is possible to take the legs off for storage although that is not something I would want to do on a daily basis. I find the size fine to leave it up all the time, and am able to store my baby bouncing chair underneath it when neither are in use, which fits perfectly and saves having 2 items taking up floor space in the kitchen.
As my kitchen is white this chair matches perfectly but would look fine in most kitchens.
Overall I would definitely recommend this for any parent, definitely better than the overly complicated and more expensive highchairs you can buy from other shops like Mothercare, which boast about features like 10 different reclining positions. As a first time mum we tend to fall for these things but as babies do not sleep in their highchair why do they need it? This simple highchair is so much better - if only I had known earlier!
Summary: So much better than the more expensive over complicated highchairs
