Advantages: Portable, lightweight, cheap

Disadvantages: Could look nicer

When Lauren started weaning, I decided I needed a high chair to be kept and Grandma and Grandads, not wanting to spend a large amount of money, a friend started raving about one she had from Ikea.

A few days later, off we went to our local branch.

To be honest, it is not very aesthetically pleasing, and if it had not been recommended, I do not think I would have bothered as it looked quite basic.

The chair itself costs £11 and can either be purchased in red, navy blue or cream. The tray is purchased separately for £4 however this was only available in white, I was not too concerned about this, we brought the red one and to be honest the white tray looked quite nice in contrast.

Assembly is really easy, simply click the 4 legs into the seat and clip on the tray. This was great as my parents could take it down when it was not needed. We also took this one away on holiday with us as it hardly took up any room in the car.

The seat also has a lap belt fitted, again, to look at this, it doesn't look as safe as some of the models on the market which offer arm straps etc but Lauren would sit in the sit at least twice a week and we never had any worries that she could escape, nor did she ever try to undo the belt.

The height of the chair is approximately 90cm, this must be about the average height of tables as the tray sat nicely to the height of four different dining room tables.

The legs are made of metal and the chair and tray is plastic meaning is was really easy to wipe clean.

Because there aren't any fancy gadgets on it (height adjustments, reclining etc) it was very light and easy to carry about.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this product, although we used as our second high chair, if I was to have another baby, I wouldn't spend £80 on some fancy thing from Toys R Us, I would buy one of these.

Summary: Great value product - recommended.
