Despite the fact you think you’ve picked them all up there is always one that you find a week later which makes you wonder how many more have been left behind or swallowed by the dog. The jigsaw then goes in the bin or for you evil people out there, it goes in the box for the next car boot sale. I like jigsaw’s with the usual baby seals or cute puppy pictures but they come in every shape and picture imaginable. My last jigsaw was a herd of elephants drinking out of a puddle. These are good to get children ...

A jigsaw actually challenges the minds of youngsters and in this modern world how many toys can we honestly say does that? When I look in my son's toy box I see many toys that entertain him but few that actually challenge his thinking. I suppose this is the teacher in me coming out! I bought Joe his first jigsaw when he was 6 months old. OK so he couldn't do it but he was interested in the shapes and texture of the materials. His first jigsaw came from Mothercare and cost a mere ...
