Johnson's Breast Pads
Advantages: Big pads and absorbent
Disadvantages: Always on the move
Sorry to the men reading this, yet another mother and baby item. This is a review of Johnson's Breast Pads which I bought during pregnancy in preparation for breast feeding. Having done this the first time round I knew I would need a good supply of these pads for leaky boobs and I picked these up at a discount store.
My box is different to the one pictured. The box is pink like the Johnson's brand and has a perforated edge so you can open the box and easily access the contents. Inside are 30 unwrapped pads. They are not wrapped like some of the posher brands.
What are they?
The pads are large and round and have one adhesive patch so you can stick them in place in your bra.
I find a box of 30 don't last long as it's only 15 goes really. I tend to use a couple a day on each side and a fresh one for night time too. I don't want to smell of old milk so change them regularly. The pads are nice and big and very absorbent.
Sadly, I find these don't stay in place very well in my bra. They tend to move around and end up scrunched up underneath my bust so I think they are not that good really. You want them to stay in place and not have to keep checking to see if they have moved (and then delving around in your bra to re position). I also find that they stick to my nipple a bit and I have to peel them off which is a bit unpleasant.
I don't think these are any better than the supermarket's own brand versions I have tried. The box is big and bulky to store yet only lasts me for a few days.
These are priced £3.05 in Boots at the moment although I think I paid around £2 for my box from the Company shop. It was only an odd box though presumably from a failed home delivery (which accounts for the odd items this shop sometimes sells).
I don't think I'll bother buying these again. I find them good from an absorbency point of view but not the best for staying put in position in my bra which is quite important as I don't want to get wet marks on my top from leaky milk.
Summary: Not a repurchase for me
