great if you have the right chairs

What is the koo-di pack-it seat me safe seat harness?
Well to start with its a bit of a mouthful, its usually referred to as the koo-di seat harness. It is basically a piece of material which fastens to almost any chair. There is a fold at the back which goes over the back of the chair, you lay the material over the seat of the chair and sit your baby/toddler on it. you then lift the front up between their legs and fasten around the back of the chair. once finished you fold up (well I usually just screw up) and push it inside out which secures it in a bag which you then zip closed. it has a small tab with press-studs so you can fasten on the handle of your pram or handle of your bag, it is also small enough to just throw into your bag.
It is recommended for use over 6 months or when your child can sit unaided, and is very useful for taking to families houses or restaurants which don't have high chairs.
It RRPs around the £11 mark, its currently £10.99 in boots and kiddicare, but £11.94 on amazon. I got mine on ebay for around £7.99 4 years ago.

      Does it work?
It does and doesn't.....Koo-di say this fits most dining chairs....no it doesn't. I cant get it to work on round backed chairs (so that's Nan's and Granny's houses) and if the back of the chair is too high there isn't enough material to secure your child properly (that's great grandmas house out too) so really the only houses we know where there are chairs it fits is ours....and we have a high chair.
We have had more luck in restaurants. I am quite fussy and like my children to sit at the table with us, not on their own with their own little table tray, so if a restaurant doesn't have high chairs which fit at the table (or they're dirty) I use this seat harness. I find restaurants usually have chairs suitable for use with this harness.
We also find this VERY useful when were camping. Who wants to take a high chair camping with you? we simply use a fold up chair and this harness, put up the chair (secure to ground with tent pegs so cant fall over) and then put the seat harness on....as good as a high chair.
I keep ours in our changing bag, it doesn't take up much room and if I leave it at home I'm guaranteed to need it! Its useful to have handy.
Something I find great about this is how easy it is to clean.... you clean your child (in my case she is usually plastered in food) remove from the chair, fold into itself until you get home. When home remove from your bag and unfold....THROW IN THE WASHER AT 30 DEGREES!!!! simple.... no faffing, just wash in a normal load of washing.

      would I recommend?
oh yes!!!! I even recommended to a friend and she went and got one. Its small and light and handy when out and about. its easy to clean and hard wearing, we are still using the one bought for our son 4 years ago and its still going strong. Its so much easier to take with you to families houses than to take a high chair every time you go there for dinner...Only thing wrong is that it doesn't fit all chairs like I thought when I bought.
