I did a lot of reading beforehand and had a doula so knew that it took 6 weeks to truly establish breastfeeding. I received some strange advice from my health visitor in regards to ... Although many people swear by Lansinoh it should not be used as a replacement for getting professional advice about positioning and attachment if you are suffering from sore nipples. It will only mask symptoms and can often make things worse in the long run without treating the cause of the issue in the first place.By all means try it if you are in a lot of pain but your next port of call should be finding a breastfeeding supporter to help solve your attachment problems. Lansinoh is not a magic cream which will make problems go away.
