Advantages: Easy to use, efficient, easy to clean

Disadvantages: Bulky, expensive

I bought this unit following on from my sister having one when she had her children and she swore by it. I had used it a couple of times at her house as well so I knew it was a good idea.

The unit is designed to save you having to go downstairs when your baby is still waking up for feeds during the night.

The unit consists of a stand. Within this stand you have a two bottle holder which can be removed, a warming unit and a night light.

The bottle holder is white plastic with a removable lid and a blue handle. This holder can be used seperately to the unit as just a bottle bag but to be honest it was far too bulky and being plastic it would just take up too much room in your changing bag or pram if you were to take it out.

In the holder you could hold two wide neck bottles, mine used to hold two of the large Avent bottles. In the middle of the two bottles was a freezer pack which you would fill with water and freeze during the day ready to put in the unit to keep the bottles chilled over night.

Although I understand this one of the only ways to do this I did find this part a pain as when you have a newborn baby you don't always remember to take the unit down the next morning to refreeze. I think it would be better if the holder was developed with some kind of insultation inside instead.

Also within this unit was a small two compartment container which you filled with water. This water is then transferred over into the heating area, one compartment needed for each bottle.

You turn the unit on once water in the heating unit and place your bottle in. It would take between 5 to 7 minutes to warm the bottle dependent on the size of the feed.

Although this sounds a long time when its in the middle of the night I found that I would turn the system on and put my bottle in, go off and change my daughters nappy and get her back in her sleepsuit and by the time I came back for the bottle it would be warm enough for her to drink happily.

Personally I never used the Nightlight but could see this could be useful if you had a partner who was a light sleeper.

The unit has a handy automatic shut off tool so you can ensure you do not boil dry the heating area.

The unit was all plastic so easy to clean. The warming area has a stainless steel plate so does need descaling solution to keep clean.

Only negatives for me is that it is quite a large unit so if you are limited to space it could be a pain and it also costs around £30 which could stretch some peoples budgets.

Summary: Wam milk with little fuss just what you need with a newborn.
