Advantages: lightweight, easy to fold, easy to push
Disadvantages: brake is hard to put on, can't get into basket if seat is fully reclined
I wanted one of these for ages. I lusted after it. I drooled over pictures of them on the internet. I waited for the price to come down from what (to me) is a horrendous price for a buggy £179.99, to £110 then I just couldn't resist, and ordered (from Kiddicare.com) It arrived and I unpacked it. Black and silver was the colourway and it was lovely. Foam ergonomic handles, chest pads on the straps, leg support on the seat, it had it all. I was as chuffed to bits as a new shiny pushchair can make any mother! It all unfolded smoothly and in I plonked the baby. He was only 6 months when I bought it but he looked fine and dandy in it. They claim it is suitable from birth but I personally wouldn't put a newborn in it, but I'd say from about 3 months onwards there would be no problem as long as it was well reclined. The buggy itself has 4 seat positions which are adjusted using clips at each side of the seat (this is hard to explain). While it is no problem to recline the seat while the baby is in it, I do find it hard to put the seat back up to upright when there is a child in it, due to the weight of the child. The extendable leg rest is great, this was one of the main reasons I upgraded from a Maclaren Daytripper to a Techno as the Daytripper has no leg rest. The hood is a little flimsy, and not really much use apart from to fix the raincover too, which, incidentally is such an improvement on raincovers of yesteryear, you know, the 'framed' types that get in the way. The raincover that comes with the Techno has no frames and so folds up really small and will fit in your bag no problem. The basket too is quite flimsy but will take a small amount of shopping but as this is only a buggy and not a pram/pushchair you can't really expect anything else. The only problem with the basket being that you can't get into it if the seat is in the fully reclined position. The biggest problem with this buggy is
the brake, I find it extremely difficult to get the brake 'on' and 'off'. Not sure if its just me and my particular buggy but I have heard of other people having the same problem However, the best thing about this buggy is how light and easy to push it is. Its fabulous, you can hardly tell you have a child in it. Even though there are some slight gripes about the buggy (the brake being the main one) I still love it. It folds up so easily with one hand and fits in the boot of the car no problem.

- 16/01/03 same problem with the brake. But otherwise love the buggy. Got it at the awesome price of 125 euro in toysrus in Freiburg, Germany - they are having a special at the moment.
I also would not use it for a newborn. My son is 18 months and this is our secondary buggy (expensive choice). We have a teutonia with pneumatic tires for everyday use. But for our 4 week holiday to oz I had to get something light, and sturdy - love it! |

- 22/10/02 It does sounds expensive for a buggy but I suppose you have to be comfortable with it too, it can be a real pain pushing them around. |
