When our daughter was born, we started off with a travel system. This was great to start with but soon became too big and bulky, especially if you were taking the pushchair in and out of the car. When she was six months old, we purchased the Maclaren Vogue buggy and we have been really impressed. If you are short of space in the car, especially if you have a dog like us, this is ideal as it folds up like an umbrella and takes up very little room. It is very easy to use and can be led back if your child falls asleep. It also comes with a raincover which fits nicely under the large basket underneath. Ideal for those shopping trips but we also have a 3 wheeler all terrain pushchair which we use for off-road use. Excellent value for money and would definately recommend this.
When our son was 6 months old we bought the maclaren mistral as did most parents at the time, but for one reason or another it became very rickety(nothing to do with the design or make)and so we had to replace it,we went shopping and looked at lots of different makes but decided eventually on the new maclaren vogue,it's the same as the mistral but the seat seems slightly more generous and it has a longer hood which creates more leg room when the raincover is in place. At £120 it is alot more exspensive than the mistral but the added hood length means it will suit older children better.
