My little princess has has soothers from the moment she was born. I know some people don't like to give there baby soothers but i had one when i was a baby and it did me no harm. My midwife was great she actually recommended mams soothers. The midwife was from america and said that it was proven from a sicents over there that soothers actually reduce the risk of cot death due to the mouth being active while baby is asleep. Mams soothers are bpa free and designed to help with the development of babies teeth not damage them. The teat is made from clear silicone and are an oblong shape. My 14month old son has always been very good with his use of dummies he only has one if he is going to sleep at night and for his nap in the day, however he is very fussy with what sort it of dummie it is. He will not use ones with silicon teats or the ones where the teat is slightly bent up at the end. I found mam dummies the best for a number of reason's one being the teat is quite large which is good as i have found the smaller teats seem to pop out my son's mouth very easily, the shape the sheild is, is great as it fits around the babies mouth perfect and they are nice looking, i no that sounds strange but being abit of a tommee tippee everything mum i ... Having barely used soothers with my previous 2 children I find it quite strange that I'm now quite a connoisseur of them, Avents, Tommee Tippees and now MAM's. I never set out to have so many for jack but as he's grown so has his dummy requirement, the newborn size no longer being suitable means that I have to upgrade every time he moves up an age bracket. When I went to get him some 3-6 month dummies I initially wanted Tommee Tippee ones like he'd been used to, unfortunately all that was available in his size were MAM dummies so I picked up a pack, granted I could have waited until I could find the ones I wanted but Jack was having problems with his smaller ...
