Advantages: Nice design, Teat made to feel like skin.

Disadvantages: Tricky to clean

When I gave birth to my daughter and was defeated into bottle feeding I decided to buy a job lot of the best known bottle. Being a new Mum I didn't realise that some babies don't just settle for any old bottle some of them are fussy little things. I would suggest that a new mummy only buys four or so of the same bottles in case their little one is the same it will save a fortune. The pack I bought was a waste of money!

My daughter fell in to this category, I couldn't work out why she would get in such a state when trying to get the bottle into her mouth and then my Mum suggested that because I had breastfed she may not like the teat on the bottle so maybe I should try another. So I bought one of these a MAM Ultivent bottle and on first use the difference was remarkable no distressed baby she latched on to the teat it was an immediate hit!

The MAM Ultivent comes in nice pastel colours which are Yellow, Blue, Pink and a lilac colour. The design is nice and the bottles look quite funky. It has a tight fitting lid and a screw off bottom with a white valve.

The Teat on the Ultivent is quite wide compared with a normal teat and is meant to feel like a mothers skin which it does, the part that feels like skin is a more matt sort of finish than the rest of the teat which is clear.

The Ultivent is also meant to reduce colic with its unique valve and flow system, I honestly cannot say if this actually worked as my daughter did suffer from colic and this was the only bottle I used. I don't think Colic is preventable anyway its something that some babies will get no matter what. I wouldn't but this bottle just for this reason.

The bottle can be taken apart to clean and once apart has 5 separate parts to clean and sterilise once taken apart the bottle has no bottom or top so is easier to clean and you wash the bottom, valve screw top, teat and lid separately but I found it easier to actually clean as I didn't have to get the bottle brush and move it all around the bottom. It was just the sterlising was a bit of an issue as this way it takes up more space than your regular bottle. It can also be a bit of a faff to put back together but once you have done it a few times its easy peasy!

You can heat the bottles in the microwave with the lid off or resting in hot water although be careful if doing this as the water gets sucked up in the valve and then stays there so be sure to shake out all of the hot water from the bottom before feeding or it starts to drip out which could be dangerous.

The only thing with the bottles that I didn't like was that the measures that were printed on the bottle wore off overtime this could have been the way I washed them though so maybe not a fault on Mam's part.

I would recommend these bottles. Thanks for reading

Summary: Good bottle would recommend
